GENERAL DUTIES:

Perform a variety of instructional duties assisting a licensed staff member in the implementation of a specific program for individual students or small groups.

 

KNOWLEDGE OF:

  • English language, spelling, mathematics, and technology
  • Behavior management techniques
  • Computers and software

ABILITY TO:

  • Work harmoniously with others and to communicate effectively with students, parents and teachers
  • Follow general oral and written instructions
  • Carry out duties of special care for students with behavior, medical or daily living skills
  • Work independently and take initiative in task performance
  • Pass a Criminal Background/fingerprint check ($66 fee)
  • Meet the “Highly Qualified” paraprofessional requirements (*below for info)

EXPERIENCE:    Three years of experience working with students and the public is desirable

 

ESTIMATED START DATE:  February 1, 2024

 

WAGES:    $15.16-$16.73 Depending on experience and per the OSEA Agreement

*Tillamook School District - Highly Qualified Paraprofessional Requirements

 

Tillamook School District requires that all paraprofessionals be “Highly Qualified”. There are 3 ways you can meet these requirements.

 

  1. Possess an associate’s (or higher) degree, or
  2. Complete two years of study at an institute of higher education with a minimum of 72 quarter college credits or 48 semester college credits, or
  3. Pass a local assessment test demonstrating basic knowledge of reading, writing and mathematics skills. (Accuplacer)

Next-Generation Writing – 223 or above
